FAQ — PackTight
Frequently Asked Questions
Product Use
How does vacuum compression actually work?
Our bags use a one-way valve system. You pack your clothes inside, roll or fold the bag to squeeze out the air, then use our travel pump (or any standard vacuum cleaner nozzle) to remove the remaining air through the valve. The result is a compact, flat bundle that takes up significantly less space in your carry-on.
Do I need the PackTight pump, or can I use my own?
Our Travel Pump is designed to work seamlessly with all PackTight valve sizes and is compact enough to pack in your carry-on. Most standard vacuum nozzles will also work, but the pump ensures a proper seal every time. It's a worthwhile addition if you travel frequently.
Will vacuum compression wrinkle my clothes?
Tightly compressed clothes can crease, yes. We recommend rolling garments before packing (rather than folding) to minimise wrinkles. Knitwear and casual fabrics handle compression especially well. For formal wear, our packing cubes without full compression are a better fit.
How much can I fit in the Cabin Compression Bag 40L?
With compression active, most travellers fit 5–7 days of clothing (t-shirts, trousers, underwear, a light layer) comfortably. Without compression, you're looking at 3–4 days. The bag is optimised for volume efficiency, not just raw capacity.
Airline Compatibility
Will my PackTight bag fit under a Ryanair seat?
Yes. Our Cabin Compression Bag 40L is designed to fit within Ryanair's free personal item allowance (40 × 20 × 25 cm). We test against their published dimensions. That said, individual aircraft vary — we recommend checking Ryanair's current policy before you fly, as airlines update their rules periodically.
What about easyJet, Wizz Air, and other budget carriers?
Our bags are sized for the most restrictive common allowances across European low-cost carriers. easyJet's under-seat limit (45 × 36 × 20 cm) is more generous, so you'll have no issues there. Wizz Air (40 × 30 × 20 cm) is slightly tighter — our 40L bag still fits within those dimensions. Always verify with your specific airline before travel.
Can I bring a PackTight bag and a personal item?
That depends entirely on your airline and fare type. PackTight bags are sized as personal items (under-seat allowance) rather than overhead cabin bags. If your ticket includes a cabin bag allowance, you may be able to bring both — check your airline's specific policy.
Shipping & Delivery
How long does delivery take?
We process orders within 1–2 business days. Estimated delivery after dispatch: UK 2–4 business days, EU 4–7 business days, USA 5–8 business days, rest of world 7–14 business days. All orders include tracking.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — we ship worldwide. Free tracked shipping is included on all orders. For international deliveries outside the UK and EU, please note that customs duties or import taxes may apply depending on your country's regulations — these are the buyer's responsibility.
How do I track my order?
You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships. Tracking updates can take 24–48 hours to appear in the carrier's system after your number is issued. If you haven't received a tracking email within 3 business days of ordering, contact us at support@packtight.co.
Returns & Warranty
What is your return policy?
We offer a 90-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, contact us within 90 days of receiving your order and we'll arrange a return and full refund. Items should be in unused condition with original packaging.
How long does a refund take?
Once we receive and inspect your return, we process refunds within 5–7 business days. Depending on your bank or card provider, the credit may take an additional 3–5 days to appear on your statement.
What does the 3-year warranty cover?
Our 3-year warranty covers manufacturing defects — faulty seams, broken valves, failed zippers, or structural issues that arise under normal use. It does not cover damage from misuse, accidents, or normal wear over time. To make a warranty claim, email us with photos and your order number.
Care & Cleaning
How do I clean my PackTight compression bag?
Turn the bag inside out and hand wash with mild soap and lukewarm water. Do not machine wash or tumble dry — heat can damage the compression seal and valve. Allow to air dry completely before using or storing. Most bags are clean-ready within a few hours.
Can the bags be stored long-term when not travelling?
Yes. Store your bags flat or loosely rolled in a cool, dry place. Avoid compressing them empty for long periods, as this can stress the seam seals unnecessarily. When in doubt, leave the valve open during storage.
